Jim has been a studio potter and educator for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design. In addition to his formal education he participated in the residency programs at the Banff Centre for the Arts and the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana.

For more than 20 years Jim has lectured and taught at numerous colleges and art organizations throughout Canada while maintaining a busy and successful studio practice.

His work is represented nationally and internationally in public and private collections, some of which include:
